A Neighbor First. A Leader When It Matters.

Nearly 40 years serving Madison County—now stepping forward to serve in a new way.

Two smiling people, a man and a woman, standing outdoors at a rally. The man is wearing sunglasses, a flat cap, a fleece jacket, and a campaign button with the text "Phil Gitt Candidate Indiana House District 35." The woman has curly hair, glasses on her head, and is wearing a denim jacket, a T-shirt with a bald eagle graphic, and a campaign button. The background shows a crowd of people, some holding signs, and city buildings.

Helen Wean has spent her life working alongside the people of Madison County—not in politics, but in the community.

As a licensed real estate broker for nearly four decades, she has helped families find homes, supported farmers and landowners, and worked through the real-life challenges that come with owning land, building a future, and putting down roots.

She understands this community because she’s lived it.

And now, she’s ready to serve it.

FROM THE CANDIDATE, HELEN WEAN

What I Believe

  • People should always come before politics

  • Our land is worth protecting

  • Farmers deserve a strong voice

  • Local decisions should reflect local values

  • Listening is just as important as leading

Why Now

For most of my life, I believed I could make the biggest difference by working behind the scenes—helping people, solving problems, and supporting my community in my own way.

But over time, I’ve seen something that I can’t ignore.

Too many decisions are being made without the voices of the people they affect most. I’ve seen families, farmers, and neighbors feel like they’re not being heard—and that doesn’t sit right with me.

This community has given so much to me, and I believe it deserves strong, honest representation.

That’s why I’m stepping forward.

I’m running to listen, to advocate, and to be a voice for the people of Madison County—because you deserve to be heard in the decisions that impact your daily lives.

Helen is building a campaign rooted in community, conversation, and trust.
